2001 Meulenhof Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (8/28/2016)
At age 15 this is at peak in my opinion. The tropical fruit is still evident, and it is complemented by spice tones. The palate is silky smooth with a finishing acidic kick and the overall mouth feel is medium weight and refreshing. This is an old school Auslese, rather than some oversized, declassified TBA. It is all about purity and grace with a little sweetness thrown on top for good measure.
