WTN: 2014 Schloss Gobelsburg Gruner Veltliner Renner

Popped and poured off the restaurant wine list for $35 US equivalent. Bright citrus, white pepper and cress aromas made this a textbook Gruner Veltliner. It had good richness, and also fine acidity, so it was mouthfilling and refreshing at the same time. The finished had great amplitude and persistence, working with and holding its own with my meal.

I have sampled three consecutive vintages of this wine at the same restaurant over the last year, and am pretty well convinced it's the best QPR for high quality Gruner Veltliner on the market.

now if that isn't a recommendation!

Not currently at any store I do business with (well, Woodland Hills has the '14 at a good price, but I don't want a case and shipping for 3-6 gets expensive). But will keep an eye out, or maybe will see something else at WHWC

Looks like it runs around $35 to $40 in the US, per Wine-Searcher.
