Tabbouleh, felafel, lamb kebabs, pita bread and dates for dinner tonight so a wine from Lebanon was appropriate. The champagne, because it's always a good time for champagne.
Chateau Musar 2004 - Not very deep, medium garnet. Smokey, a bit of earth, roast meat, some barnyard, and leather. Sweet ripe cherry, dried herb, soft tannins. Medium-bodied. Young for Musar but really attractive and forward at this point. Excellent.
Champagne Jean Vesselle Extra Brut NV - Stunning white gold color. Lightish for a Vesselle. Very dry, steely, but not austere. Green apple, pear and lemon. Good length. I'm not really a fan of Extra Brut champagne, but this was pretty good.
