Tried this oldie w/ JimAllen/SequoiaGrove Sat afternoon:
1. Ridge Geyserville Calif GeyservilleVnyd/SonomaCnty (62% Zin/18% PS/15% Carignan/5% Mataro; 14.2%; 30'th vintage; Bttld: Feb 97; Drk: 1/00-1/10: PD) 1995: Dark color w/ light bricking; some smokey/toasty/oak rather dusty/OV some blackberry/Zin/spicy bit cedary/pencilly/oldZin complex nose; soft licorice toasty/smokey/oak/DraperPerfume some blackberry/Zin/very spicy slight earthy bit brett/barnyardy some pencilly/cedary/oldZin complex flavor w/ light bit drying tannins; very long/lingering smokey/toasty/oak/DP some blackberry/Zin/very spicy slight bretty/leathery some cedary/pencilly/oldZin finish w/ light smooth bit drying tannins; a lovely complex old Zin.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I was expecting this Zin to be pretty shaky. It was not. It still has plenty of spicy Zin fruit. But it's transitioning into that cedary/pencilly/old Zin character and probably not going to get any better.
