2011 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Riserva Asili - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco (7/30/2016)
First test drive of one of the 2011 Produttori Riserva bottlings, and if they are all like this I will be very happy. Starting off the wine is very accessible, and reminds me of the 2007. Red cherry fruit and dusty floral notes dominate the aromatics. Where the wine shines right now is on the palate, where there is richness aligned with grace. There is some notable tannin on the finish, which builds as the wine is open. So this is certainly drinkable now, but has plenty of stuffing.
