2008 Eric Texier Côtes du Rhône-Brézème - France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône-Brézème (7/19/2016)Vibrant, meaty and showing black fruit, this is in a good place right now. I like the balance and the lingering meat and fruit tones give the impression of a more exalted wine than $17 can buy. FYI, my wife grabbed this from the cellar and blinded me on it, so no label bias. I scribbled my thoughts before she revealed the bottle.

Nice. This basic bottling can be vibrant bordering on tart, and 2008 was a lean year, but nice that it all came together. As it should!

Agree on the general condition of the baseline Brézème. This one had that tart streak on release. It would still seem tart to a Saxum/Alban drinker, but I found it just right.
