WTN: An excellent Riesling from Kansas!

Same winery as the Kansas Cabernet Franc I posted on not too long ago. This is another eye-opener!

Somerset Ridge, Riesling, Kansas NV
According to their website, this is the very first Kansas Riesling. Rich, fresh, aromatic nose of orchard fruit: peaches and pear, with pineapple, lime, and honey. Same personality on the palate: peach, ripe, crisp pear, a touch of pineapple, with lots of sweet lime notes, and toward the finish, lots of rich, sweet flower honey, a touch of allspice, and flint/stoney mineral. Medium-full bodied, off-dry, remarkably rich and deep; the quality is really excellent. The equal of Washington Rieslings in the same price range ($15 - 20). Drink now or in the next 5 years. 3.5 Stars [7/3/16]
