1. As I was shopping at CortiBros, Darrell always takes the front end of my cart and guides me up & down the aisles. He'll stop & pick up a btl, give me a 5 min. lecture on the wine, and then stick it in my cart. When we start to reach 3 cs, I'll tell Darrell "no mas".
On this last visit, he stopped in front of the floor stack of this wine & launched into his lecture. I gave him this cockeyed look and said "Darrell....it's been 20 yrs since I actually bought a red Bordeaux". He sorta shrugged his shoulders, "You must try this wine", and deposited it in my shopping cart. What the hey...it's his store...he can tell me what I should buy.
So I served it last night as a mystery wine, knowing full well that nobody would suspect me of serving a redBdx wine, knowing my distaste for that genre. ShoNuff...nobody guessed it as Bdx.
I actually rather liked this wine. Clearly on the modern/ripe side, it lacked strong herbal/loamy signature I remember of RedBdx. But if you gotta drink RedBdx...this one fills the bill. Thank you, Darrell.
