A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I rather preferred the '14 to the '91 as the latter was starting to show some of the raisened/pruney character these wines typically show w/ age as the fruit starts to go.
The '91 was the last Ridge Essence made from Beni Dusi's Paso vnyd. It was made simply by leaving the grapes to hang until they were super-ripe & raisened. After this '91, Beni told Paul "never again". Even though he was being paid by the acerage and not the tonnage. Beni is such a meticulous & conscientious farmer that he was certain all his neighbors were laughing at him behind his back for not harvesting his grapes at the right time and being a sloppy farmer.
