BTN: Fieldwork in Berkeley

by Brian K Miller » Mon Jun 27, 2016 10:59 am

We are having a heat spell in California. At least inland where I live. Berkeley/Oakland were merely...warm*.

Anyway, I finished my bicycle tour of the urban coastline yesterday (including a brief ride through the Fruitvale District in Oakland, site of a spectacular 15-police-cruiser car chase ending in the suspect crashing into a parked car) and wanted to check out Fieldwork Brewing Company. Literally two blocks away from Donkey and Goat and Broc Cellars. A very cool place with an inviting vibe and INDOOR bicycle racks!

Their Lime Gose hit the spot. Tart, citrusy, funky, slightly cloudy. Relatively light in alcohol. Not overwhelming, but definitely a :sour beer". The beer version of a Broc or D&G wine. Place appears to be wildly popular, and the beers looked very interesting on the whole.

If I remember correctly we treated you as an equal when you were in Berkeley. Give us credit as accepting all people.

Just free-associating, Lou! Don't you remember the old Berkeley Farms slogan? Radio ads voice by Mel Blanc? Herb Caen called it the "most successful and longest-running advertising slogan in Bay Area history"!
cheers, Patchen
