TN: 2010 Hexamer Meddersheimer Rheingrafenberg Riesling Quarzit, Nahe Germany.
SC, $26 Cdn, 10% alc, A.P: 023 11.
Surveying the `11 and `12 vintage in the cellar the other day, thought best to pull the 2010 vintage and enjoy with some pork dumplings.
Plenty of tangy mineral acidity, not too much residual sugar apparent. Apple, floral nose, some "pop" spritz on opening. Peach apple and spice on a medium finish, think drinking at its peak. "Easy to drink, hard not to pour another glass" from across the table. The fresh acidity blends in with the focused tropical fruits. The mineral edge is very apparent, I will continue to buy but think best to drink within a year of purchase.
