1990 Ch. Pibran (Pauillac Cru Bourgeois) – hadn’t popped one of these in ages so thought I’d try one. Clear limpid garnet colour, still reasonably deep, an instantly attractive nose of cassis fruit and vanilla, a smooth lifted entry and on palate, resolved tannins and a long smooth sweet finish, although it seemed to get simpler over a half hour or so. Drink them if you have them – as good as they will ever be!
