WTN: 2003 Leitz Roseneck Spätlese

2003 Weingut Josef Leitz Rüdesheimer Berg Roseneck Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Rheingau (5/22/2016)
Still quite youthful, with lots of creamy peach and more brightness than I would have expected from a 2003. Lots of substance, so there should be plenty of time in hand for this wine.

In retrospect one must admit that some of us may have been too negative about the 'excesses' of 03 across Europe when it was first released. But hey, we were all 12 years younger! And, little did we know that there would be so many more such hot vintages coming shortly thereafter.
