WTN: 2013 Inman Pinot Noir Pratt Vine Hill (RRV)

2013 Inman Family Pinot Noir Pratt Vine Hill - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (5/18/2016)
Translucent cherry red color - no inky purpleness here. Cherry carry through everywhere. It looks like cherries, smells like cherries and tastes like cherries. There's some spice hanging around the edges and refreshing acidity. Not much in the way of tannin, but the balance between fruit and acid is good, so the wine will progress more on that balance than any tannic structure. Probably only a short to mid term ager-should be very enjoyable over a 5-7 year span though.

It was lots of fun to drink as a youthful pop (ok - unscrew) and pour.

I like her Olivet Grange (estate) PN a bit better, but it's pricey.

They are all pricey. One of my main 2017 changes will be dramatically cutting down on California purchases. I am now making brutal comparisons at home between the various wines I buy, and lots of the California names no longer stand up on price. I like the wines, but when I can get 1er Cru Burgundy for less or the same I know where my future dollars will go.
