My F-H Bestiary arrived Mon, so Pobega'd:
1. Forlorn-Hope Sihaya RibollaGialla NapaVlly (12.94%; 67 cs; skin-contact) 2014: Deep golden/burnished bronze color; strong phenolic/resiny/bit apple cider light peppery/RG/figgy slight earthy/dusty/wet pavement rather saline/savory complex nose; rather tart/austere some phenolic/resiny bit orange peel/honeyed slight peppery/RG/fruity some saline flavor w/ light hard tannins; very long rather phenolic/resiny/savory/saline light RG/peppery/honeyed finish w/ some hard/astringent tannins; a complex/interesting skin-contact white that speaks quietly of Ribolla; not a whole lot of pleasure to taste on its own. $30.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Like most whites that have extended skin-contact; this was nor something that's enjoyable to taste by itself. These wines must have food w/ them. However, the food pretty much destroys the nuances of the wine that you can only get by tasting by itself. With my leftover gigante beans/porchetta/artichoke braise; the wine is really tamed down & a pleasure to drink. The apple cider character really comes to the forefront.
