Mount Veeder, Napa "Valley".
Continuing in my recent exploration of balanced, even elegant, and certainly drinkable zinfandels: This was a lovely wine. 20% Petit Sirah in the blend. Not a lightweight (14.5%) but not a bruiser, either. Cherry fruit, cherry skins, a touch of smoke from the oak regime. Some nice acidity. A nice mouthfeel for such a young wine. The Alexander Valley Vineyards wine had that black pepper element I enjoy, but this wine had a litheness (love that word) that I found very appealing!
