Cahors. 50% Cabernet, 50% Malbec. Vin de France

Made by Fabien Jouves. All the natural wine fa-di-da. Discussion here (Warning. Site is IPOB/Natural Wine Friendly 8) ) http://returntoterroir.com/newsletter-2 ... ic-cahors/

I am pretty sure my vintage of this Vin De France is Cab and Cab Franc. Not Tannat and Cab Franc. Could not find any vintage indications. Doesn't have the standard varietal characters, so I am not sure!

Anyway, this is definitely a reductive wine-to the max. Quite sulfurous. After vigorous vinturi-ing and decanting, a bright, supple, high acid and juicy red wine comes through. Doesn't taste like standard cab or malbec, but there is a nice tanginess that encouraged us to finish the entire bottle (4 people) last night. Alan, the manager at Vini, was less sure about it. I had charcuterie, and it worked well with that!
