Betsy’s mom arrived yesterday, after baseball game her sister’s family joined us for dinner- shisitos, roasted cauliflower, pomegranate baba ganoush, bulgogi skirt steak, grilled fennel, and linguine with pesto.

2013 Louvetrie ( Landron) "Les Houx" Muscadet
Sturdier style of Muscadet, lemon zest and peach, but more stony than fruity. Good acids, good length, popular around table. B+

1982 Torres Gran Corona Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva (aka Black Label).

Quite soft, tannins fully resolved, very soft black plum fruit, hints of leather, dill, earth. Everyone liked but I felt it was a little dull. B-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
