Greece and Georgia!

Vaeni Naoussa Grande Reserve 2008 (Xinomavro)
With lamb, this was quite nice. Subtle cherry notes but not a fruit bomb at all, some tannins at 8 years old. Earth, spice. Quite nice. This really, really reminds me of Nebbiolo. My first Greek wine!

Orgo Rkatsiteli "Dry Amber Wine: 2013 (Georgia). Many of the (admittedly few) Georgian wines I have tried have been in the "interesting, but not sure I really like it" category. I liked this. My eye may have been fooling the palate, because I really did taste a strong citrus note-blood orange, even. It was quite delicious, and not what I expected!
