NEWS: Figgins (Leonetti) buys OR acreage for pinots

by Jenise » Fri Apr 01, 2016 2:46 pm

Chris Figgins, president and director of winemaking for Walla Walla's famed Leonetti Cellar and Figgins Family Estate, has purchased 42 acres in Oregon's Chehalem Mountains.

This will become the estate vineyard for Toil Oregon, Figgins' Pinot Noir project that began with the 2012 vintage.

Figgins also is getting ready to release his 2014 Pinot Noir in the coming weeks.

Just read that Chris Figgins has also planted a new-to-Washington-State vineyard of Aglianico. He'll call that wine Serra Pedace, though I don't know if any's been made yet.

Interesting. If I recall correctly, Willamette Valley Vineyards purchased land in the SeVein Vineyard in Walla Walla (actually Oregon). Maybe Cascade Mountain hopping is the new trend out there.
