New Ridge Zin--Hooker Creek

by Jenise » Wed Mar 23, 2016 12:05 pm

Introducing the 2014 Hooker Creek Zinfandel sourced from 120+ year old vines in Sonoma Valley.

2014 Hooker Creek Zinfandel
• 96% Zinfandel, 2% Alicante Bouschet, 2% Petite Sirah
• Only 34 Barrels Produced
• Our second release from this old vineyard. Vines planted in 1888.
Nose of ripe black cherry, licorice and mint. Concentrated plum and fig fruit on the palate with well-rounded tannins and balanced acidity. Lingering aftertaste with notes of chaparral.

Anyone had it?
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

No, but I will have to get my hands on a bottle. Sounds interesting!

Can't believe I missed your note--I do ostensibly read everything posted here. Monday must have been a short day. BUT, re the wine: your dusty and spicy plus their 'chapparral'--three of my favorite things! Will order.

I ordered one case of it for my peeps, sight unseen. It arrived last week. The next day, lo & behold,
a 2'nd case arrived. Being the honest guy that I am, I told Mary at Ridge about it. So, rather than pay to ship it back,
she offered me a deal I couldn't refuse....the 2'nd case for 50% off. Making it around $15/btl for my peeps.
Eat your heart out, Jenise!!!
