Tried this wine last night:
1. CowanCllrs RibollaGialla RRV/SonomaCnty (12.0%; www.CowanCellars.com) FloridaJim Cowan/SantaRosa 2015: Med.light yellow color; slightly reduced/cabaggy/sauerkraut bit phenolic/resiny slight earthy some peppery/stony/mineral lightly floral rather exotic nose; fairly tart/tangy/grapefruity lightly phenolic/resiny rather stony/mineral/chalky lean/tight flavor; quite tart/tangy/grapefruity/citric light phenolic/resiny some peppery/stony/spicy/appley/mineral fairly lean finish; a quite interesting Ribolla that reminds some of those from the Karst; seems rather tight & closed and not the aromatics I expect from Ribolla; needs age. $37.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This is a Ribolla that seems to have had just a bit of skin-contact in its making. It doesn't show a lot on its own and seems to badly need some age for the aromatics to develop. With my Alsatian onion tart, it was a great match, though.

Jim has posted numerous times on his Facebook page about the need for his wines to have a few years to show their potential.
