Wednesday Chat

by James Roscoe » Wed Mar 16, 2016 6:16 pm

Chat will get started around 9:00 PM for those on the east coast, 8:00 PM for those of you in Chicago and 7:00 in other parts of fly over country such as Denver. I guess that means 6:00 PM on the left coast. If my calculations are correct everyone in NZ needs to join us at 2:00 PM Thursday and Australia at 11:00 AM on Thursday for those in Sydney and eastern Oz. It will be an ungodly 3:00 AM in Israel and Helsinki, 2:00 AM in Paris, and Berlin, and 1:00 AM in London. Of course it is all worth the sleep deprivation. Come in early and see who is here. Don't be late!!!!! (I hope I have the time changes down. If not, let me know!)

The fun starts HERE!

FYI, the Parachat update is under construction! We had hoped to get it set up for tonight, but ran into some problems with file permissions. Sunday's chat seems like a doable launch, though, so stay tuned, folks! Ding dong, the Java witch is on its last legs.

Be aware that it is still under construction and MOSTLY solved, but there are some rough programming patches that may not be solved by tomorrow. We're close, and it will happen, but at this point I hope but have my doubts we can make it tomorrow. But we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it does not appear to be an oncoming train.

Let us know what to do.
Thank you for the solution!

Great news! Thank you, Robin. Connecting with the wine lovers in chat has been a wonderful tradition for me.

That is really some great news, Robin! So, what is required to run the new chat? Just what is included in any updated web browser?
Hopefully it will work for us already at today's spring equinox chat!

Looking forward to a revival of the chat. Maybe even Otto will take part again, as well as numerous others that were part of the crow in the old days!

Thanks for the effort, Robin!

I'm sorry to say it won't be tonight. :( We are waiting for a setting from a support group that doesn't work weekends. :(

But! It will continue to be Parachat, same old familiar chat room. Nothing new to learn. However, when you get to the front door, you will be given several choiced: Java, Flash, Mobile ... um, and a fourth choice, I think. Choose the one that works for you, and you'll all be viewing the same room using a system that works for you.

Cross fingers that we can finish the job early this week!

It's Ok, Robin. As long as we know there is work going on to make the chat available to everyone again, I think we can live with the anticipation of a revived chat.

Anyway, since my Java plugin is still working, I'll check in today. Just in case someone else will make it.

Cheers,
Anders
