Most of us seldom drink Madirans.

Dark wine with a chalky vanilla nose, lots of acidity and still some tannin. Best with food. Interesting.

I've still got a couple of these around, Bill. Last time I opened one it was still so closed, harsh and tannic that I figured I wouldn't try another for a really long time. Think I've waited long enough?

It has softened a lot since the last time I tried it - to the point that it drinks pretty well with the right food.

Pull a cork and post a note!

We had a 2000 Bouscasse with roast goose at our staff Xmas party. It was tart and tannic, bracing and refreshing, full of delicious berry flavors, and a fine counterpoint to the rich, fatty bird.

I'm so glad to see a note on this wine. I have 2 bottles and haven't been able to figure out when to open one, or if I have to wait another 10 years. Maybe with a stew or pot roast.
