After someone stole the wine in my Carlisle btl, I opened:
1. OjaiVnyd OjaiRed Calif TW (13.5%; 11/02/15) Oakview NV ('14): Med.color; strong PN/black cherry slight blackberry/Syrah light toasty/oak fairly perfumed nose; rather tart/lean/angular some toasty/oak rather black cherry/cherry cola/PN slight Syrah/blackberry flavor w/ light bit hard tannins; long mostly PN/black cherry bit toasty/charred/oak finish w/ light slightly bity tannins; speaks mostly of PinotNoir w/ hints of blackberry; quite a delicious RW at a stupid/silly price; needs a few yrs of age. $20.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. OjaiRed: This is a bargain wine Adam releases about once a yr, along w/ an OjaiWhite. When they are pumping from barrels into tank afore bottling, there is some wine left at the bottom of the barrel. They take this left-over wine, put it thru a filter to take out the crud, and put it to tank. When they get enough, they btl it & push it out the door at a bargain price. Since most of their production at Ojai is Syrah & Pinot, those are the primary components of OjaiRed. Plus whatever reds they have made that year.
It is almost always a NV wine w/ no vintage date on the label. So you couldn't tell one release of OjaiRed from the other. Some 5 yrs ago or so, they started laser-etching on the btl the bottling date. So now, if you peer closely at the btl near the bottom (and in the right light), you can see that etched date.
I've found that, despite its basement-bargain price, the OjaiRed can actually age pretty well for 4-6 yrs.
Ohhhh...did I ever mention that I've followed AdamTolmach from the very start??
