WTN: The Pairings 2010 GS

by Jim Grow » Wed Mar 02, 2016 9:00 pm

I think the GS of this Santa Barbara wine refers to Grenache and Syrah but am not sure. In any event this 2010 The Pairings GS was much more evolved than previous bottles (maybe just my nose/head) but there was a real (and wonderful) meaty quality to this wine. Lots of Grenache flavors to be sure but once again a nose to sniff forever, real red meatiness and or barnyard poop, with some smokeyness. Fasinating bouquet! I hope I have more. This is a wine the French would absolutely love! I will just sniff my last glass until bedtime as it is that remarkable! abv of %14.9 Holy $hit what a nose!

Is that from Jonata? The name's familiar, but I know I haven't had the wine. Btw, love that poopy thing, too.

Yes, this is the wine that did not make the cut for the Jonata label. I am a true believer now.

So it's the wine I thought it was. I saw at least one offer on it, from Last Bottle I'm fairly certain, and nearly bit. Sounds like I should have!

Yah, I feel like I am putting Last Bottle staff kids thru college! They do have some darn good offerings.

They do surprise me! This week I told my husband I am absolutely not buying another bottle, I don't have room for what we've got as it is. The very next day Last Bottle offered Wind Gap pinot noir.

Of course, I bought some.

I almost bit on that Wind Gap but I have plenty of Pinot Noir.

I have plenty of everything. My cellar is FULL, and I have nowhere to put new stuff. But I still couldn't resist Wind Gap.
