WTN: oldish Duval-Leroy Brut

Reading the Champagne note from Patchen today reminded me of having consumed the above Champagne while returning from a fishing trip to Florida. I did carry-out from a Chinese restaurant in Chattanooga with the Champagne and it was the best from a many bottle purchase made maybe 7-8 years ago. I love old Champagne and this one hit the spot. Medium deep straw color, the bubbles were in decline but present, the cork had shrunk and the white fruit showed a hint of sherry but with lots of yeastiness and fresh baked bread qualities. My buddy and I killed it almost immediately. The code on the capsule is L6300CG19 and I'll see if I can get any vintage/disgorgement info from the producer. I bought 2+ cases from a Fort Wayne Indiana wine shop when they discounted those bottles to $17.00. I still have a few left and they are only getting better.
