WTN: Miscellany part 1

NV Bollinger Champagne Special Cuvée Brut - France, Champagne (2/27/2016)
New release bottle and as expected. Rich on the palate with lots of depth. Yeasty and toasty, with subdued fruit. Well done but not really fun to drink.

NV François Pinon Touraine Brut Rosé - France, Loire Valley, Touraine (2/27/2016)
Tart cranberry and strawberry fruit. Very refreshing. Would be great on a hot summer day.

NV L. Aubry Fils Champagne Brut - France, Champagne (2/27/2016)
June 2010 disgorgement, and continues to show very well, with more mineral and toasty apple than prior bottles have shown. Fun to drink.

1995 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (2/26/2016)
Fully mature and on what should be a long plateau. Lots of spice, mineral and smoky fruit character.

NV Jérôme Prévost Champagne La Closerie Extra Brut Les Beguines - France, Champagne (2/26/2016)
Precise, focused with laser like intensity. Aggressively dry.

I think that Pinon rose is great value.
How is '95 overall for German Riesling?

I like '95. There is botrytis, but it's a seasoning, not the dominant theme. The wines were ripe enough, but it's not a crazy ripe year like lots of 2000s vintages.

They are ready to go across the board, but holding well.
