StCosme AP: Cotes du Rhone (13.5%) Louis&Cherry Barruol/Gigondas 2014: Very dark color; very strong plummy/boysenberry/Syrah/strawberry/jammy quite smokey/toasty/oak very ripe/overripe bit licorice nose; very soft/fat/flabby/porky very ripe/overripe/jammy rather toasty/oak intense boysenberry/blackberry/Syrah/plummy flavor w/ light soft tannins; very long intense ripe/overripe/jammy boysenberry/blackberry/Syrah some toasty/oak soft/porky finish w/ light ripe/soft tannins; a classic over-the-top ripe/jammy Syrah w/ no Rhone character at all at a very good price. $15.00 (KK)

1. This is a classic PhillipeCambie style of over-the-top Rhone wine. Huge fruit, no structure, nothing of interest. This is how they would make Saxum Syrah in Gigondas if they could. I can't imagine myself being able to choke down more than a glass or two of this wine. Move along, folks...nuthin to see here.
