WTN: Red, red wine

2010 Matthiasson Red Wine - USA, California, Napa Valley (2/24/2016)
I have only had 4 or 5 red wines from Matthiasson, but this wine fits exactly into the mold I expect. The fruit is elegant, there is an accent of herbs and an underlying earthy/stony base. The wood is well managed, such that it does not at all obscure the fruit, but rather provides a subtle frame around the wine's painting.
