Cans? Why not -- for all the reasons he states. The USA leads a lot more outdoor life style than we in UK do and Tesco's (the major UK supermarket national chain) have had wines in cans for decades.
No glass to break, or cause to be be banned from events, no corkscrew, light weight. It's plonk, but that's not the fault of the can, its the BIB vicious circle. I'll bet that if WholeFoods sell them, giving the stamp of respectability then they'll sell.
Not sure about his predictions. I thought from subject heading this was going to be his 2014 thoughts on 2015 so we could see how they worked out.
Because I'm very surprised that someone ITB in such a powerful position in the business takes till 2015 to taste Virginia wines and find "it was eye-opening. I was like, damn. These wines are world class! Same thing with Texas"
How much is he on the ball? I live in England and I could have told him that 10 years ago. And if he'd come to the London branch of WholeFoods he'd have seen a separate section of Virginia wines at least 2 years ago....
