WTN: 2013 Weingut Burgermeister Schweinhardt Scheurebe...

Spatlese, Langenlonsheim, Nahe, Germany. Labeled as 10% abv. No cork but the capsule was difficult to remove to get to the plastic lid underneath. The capsule was hard to cut and to peel off and had sharp points that could bruise the fingers. I thought maybe it was a screwcap but even with a wrench, the cap would not budge with the capsule on. The wine was spritzig (bubbles) when poured. Light lemon color with slight greenish tint. Citrus scents. Slightly sweet to the tastebuds with prickly sensation on the palate and floral notes. Hint of pineapple? Quite pleasant. I had this with breaded flounder filet. The wine was simple but yummy. It goes down so easily that I wanted to quaff or slurp it rather than sip it. I will purchase again from Total Wine if still in stock. (Cost $17.99 plus tax.)
