WTN: 2001 Suduiraut (Sauternes)

2001 Château Suduiraut - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (1/21/2016)
In a word, luscious. This was loaded with ripe peach and pineapple fruit, and coated with a butterscotch candy and spice mixture that compelled each and every sip. Fantastic stuff.

I consumed a bottle of 2011 Ch. du Levant over the past few days and was very impressed. Great white fruit, pear compote mostly with some apricot nose and flavors with great acidity, wonderful balance and excellent price at $12.50 per 1/2. Medium to full bodied and a new producer to me but they have been around since the 18th century. abv of 13.5% Should age wonderfully!

I have a full bottle in the cellar! What your take on longevity David? Having just one bottle, I was kinda thinking 2040ish.

Thanks for the note, David. I have the '01 that I am planning on holding until its 20th birthday. I also have an '05 for the long term. The Suduiraut Creme de Tete from 1989 that I tasted several year ago is definitely one of my top 5 all time Sauternes.

I would have thought drink 2005 at 20, and save 2001 for long haul?
