2012 Fox Run Cabernet Franc, Finger Lakes NY,

by Bob Parsons Alberta » Fri Jan 22, 2016 3:01 am

Well, I have just opened my first CF from Fox Run. I am well aware of CFs attractions as I am a collector of Loire reds. This is not the same style...terroir, vine age etc. Quite elegant with soft tannins, medium-bodied, lengthy finish. Blueberry on the nose, some green peppers, cherry and a hint of blackcurrant. Same fruits on the palate with spicy tones but they are restrained. No fruit bomb here forumites! "Finish is quite dry" from across the table and a good match with pan-fried chicken breast, beans and potatoes.
Lets see how it develops overnight.

So it doesn't sound as if you were that impressed with this wine, at least compared with Douglas Hillstrom (the guy behind fingerlakeswine.info). Any comments on the overnight development?
