Brassfield Eruption VolcanoRidgeVnyd/HighVlly/LakeCnty (14.4%; www.BrassField.com; Malbec/Syrah/Mourv/PS) DaveRamey/ClearLake 2013: Very dark/near black color; strong earthy/rustic bit herbal/Malbec/chocolaty/licorice/plummy bit milk of magnesia light toasty/oak/smokey rather interesting nose; bit tart rather rough/rustic/Malbec bit sour/earthy some herbal/Malbec/chocolaty/licorice/plummy light toasty/oak flavor w/ light rough/coarse tannins; med.long lightly tart rough/coarse/rustic herbal/Malbec/sour slight chocolaty/licorice some toasty/smokey/oak finish w/ some rough/coarse tannins; this is how they would make Argentine Malbec in Calif if they could; a rather rough/coarse/rustic/sour Malbec. $16.00 (PrimaIlC)

1. This arrived in my Prima IlConsorzia shipment ystrday, so thought I'd give it a shot. Not a big fan of Malbec and particularly dislike the ones from SouthAmerica because of the sour/coarse character they display. I think this style of Malbec fits right in w/ LakeCnty.
