2013 Dirty and Rowdy Mourvedre Old Vine Rosewood Vineyards - USA, California, North Coast, Redwood Valley (1/18/2016)Every time I drink a Dirty & Rowdy wine I am confronted with something new. Normally with a producer I can get a real sense of what to expect after 5, 6 or 7 wines, but with D&R each wine is like a new book instead of just another chapter. There is certainly a consistent elegance to the wines, this bottle included. What strikes me as unique to this one is the aromatic spice that dominates the wine. The palate is a bit more straightforward red fruit and herb, but I just kept going back to get another whiff of the spice. Beguiling.

I cannot explain why I have not sought out a D&R wine. From your notes, they sound right up my alley!
