Another wonderful bottle from David Cooper.
I made beef stew for dinner tonight (and leftovers of course), and put about a cupful of the wine in the stew. It was going to be good anyway, so I made it better.
Brought it in from the cellar and opened it. Too cold, showed acid and tannin. Half an hour later, the essence of DCV Zin with deep berry fruit and what they call in Zin “Brambles” but near as I can tell in European wines it's called either “forest floor” or something else I can't remember just now. Did I say good? It gets richer and richer in the mid-palate and has a long, gently tapering finish.
14.2% alcohol $34.40 club price.
