My oldest bottle that is being held for my own consumption is a 1970 Graham's Port.

I have a few other things that are 40-50 years old, but they are earmarked for specific purposes, and so not really part of the discussion. :)

Not all that old:

1994 Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon The Montelena Estate
1995 Felsina Berardenga Fontalloro
1995 Rioja Gran Reserva from two producers

I have owned solera-method fortified wines with starts in 1927.

P.S. My 1994 Chateau Lafite was opened and consumed in late 2014.

Oldest: Madeiras from 1900, '52 and '54. Since then just a smattering of old stuff, like a 66 Bordeaux and some 70's CalCabs.

Nothing older than 1966 -

1 x Haut-Brion
2 x Pichon Comtesse
1 x Bandy's Sercial Madeira

Oldest Burgundy -
1 x Richebourg 1971 Gros

Oldest Italian
2 x Barolo Monfortino Riserva G.Conterno 1990

I opened a 1959 Coteaux du Layon 1959 in the summer. It was disappointing.

On the other hand, a Pichon Comtesse '66 in Spring 2014 was superb. I am apprehensive about the Haut-Brion; the level is quite low.

Oh, I forgot a late 60's Giacosa. Viscardo, you'll like that!

1983 Cockburn Port I can't seem to find and 1986 Gruaud Larose

I envy those with 70's Cal. Cabs.

Chateau Rieussec, Sauternes 1981

Oldest ever cellar occupant: an 1896 Madeira from the Leacock Collection.

The oldest [full] bottles are a couple of 1948 Barbeito Malvazia Madeiras (my birth year). The oldest wine is a minute fraction of an 1844 Harvey's Verdelho Solera Madeira.

Technically, my oldest bottle is a 1908 Burgundy bottle, but alas it's empty

A couple of 1964 Bual Madeiras from Blandy's and Broadbent. I have some Broadbent Terrantez NV although the story is that when it was bottled it was already over 50 years old and that was a few years ago.

I bought a bottle of 1966 Haut Brion in 1978 for $10. We consumed it in early 1978 and it was one of my epiphany wines.

I also paid a very small number, which I don't recall exactly, for my two bottles of HB '66; the friendly manager of our company's guest house sold them to me in the late 70s at inventory value, which was cost in the late 60s. The first bottle was consumed at a 2001 offline in London with, I think, Robert Helms; it was excellent.

At the same dinner we also drank one of my best Burgs (now all gone): a Bonnes Mares '69 from Clair-Daü.

Congrats to all of you for having these treasures.

I believe the oldest wine I have at home is several bottles of 1999 Chandon de Brialles IdV.

When passing through Nyc I often stop at CSW to buy from their older Piedmont selection, but after several months of letting the wine settle, then I drink it!
