2014 Gunderloch Jean Baptiste Riesling Kabinett - Germany, Rheinhessen (1/5/2016)
I do not get many offers for Gunderloch wines, so when I saw this one I jumped at it. The Jean Baptiste Kabinett has been an outstanding bottling and also an outstanding value for a long time, and this rendition was no exception. Brightness, fresh fruit tones and just enough sweetness to kick the wine into the feinherb range made this a great dinner wines, and also a pleasure to sip on its own. The depth/richness of the wine increased a bit with air, but it always maintained an elegance that spoke to the kabinett style.

It's not possible to do better than this for $15. Back up the truck value here.

The only Gunderloch in my area is the Fritz Riesling, guess basic entry level?

I used to buy this bottling quite often, haven't in a few years.
See it's $20 at Astor, if a 20% sale I'll grab a few

I do not know that bottling. BUT...Gunderloch is good across the range, so I would bet you could have a positive experience with anything from them.
