So I bought a turkey, made stuffing, got all the veggies and stuff, and basically spent all day cooking. (Ok, I love turkey!)
And I dug out a bottle of wine that I hoped would be worthy of my efforts.
France, Burgundy, Domaine Henri Boillot, Volnay 1er Cru Clos de la Rougeotte 2005
Sadly, a spoiled bottle. Grains of black stuff amid sour thin-looking liquid. Down the drain. Hope it works for very expensive drain cleaner.

It was a good thing that I opened it right after I pulled it, because I had time to do another cellar-dive. This one worked better.
Calif., Russian River Valley, Inman Family, Olivet Grange Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009
Very light, clear color. The fisrt tasting sip in the glass looked almost like rose – a light strawberry color. Nice aroma and a mix of berry, cherry, and some “forest floor”, with a definite background of French oak. Kathleen Inman's wines don't have anything I'd call "gravitas", but they're delightful, tasty, fresh, and beautifully balanced. And screw-capped.
