Bought on deep discount today, I couldn't resist trying it tonight with BBQ ribs. The bouquet soars from the craf with red and black fruits and violets. The nose is more Napa cab.-like with good black fruit including some cassis but also some chalkiness and an herbal quality. Opened up further with 1/2 hr. of breathing during the meal after 2 hrs. in an open-mouthed craf. Said to be $60 but found on wine-searcher for $51 but still a great wine for $27, what I paid. If a retailer jumps thru the bureaucratic hoops of Ohio Bureau of Liquor and buys a large lot someone wants to get rid of, I guess there are fine deals to be found! I may buy a case of this to go thru slowly. abv of 14.5% and very black in color.
