Pobega'd this new arrival Fri night:
1. BedrockWineCo Riesling WirzVnyd/CienegaVlly (Dry-farmed; Plmtd: 1963; 12.9%; Own-rooted; www.BedrockWineCo.com) 2014: Light gold color; rather chalky/mineral/stony/flinty some Mosel valve oil/petrol light mango/floral/R very atypical Calif R lovely nose; quite tart/tangy totally dry rather Mosel valve oil/flinty/chalky light mango/floral/R/piney quite attractive/interesting flavor; very long tart/tangy/dry light mango/floral/R/grapefruity some Mosel valve oilbit stony/chalky/steely lovely finish; not your usual tutti-fruity Calif R; reminds some of the Ridge ChalkHill R w/o the oak, lots like the old Felton-Empire SCM R; dry & a brisk acidity w/o being eviscerated or austere; quite an atypical rendition of Calif R. $26.50

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I was mightly impressed by this first R from Morgan. Alas....only tiny amounts made. I hope they will continue this wine. It's rare to find that Mosel valve oil character in Calif R. Not sure how Morgan achieved that feat.
