2012 Dirler-Cade Gewurztraminer Kitterlé - France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru (12/13/2015)
What a delicious Gewürztraminer. Rose, pineapple and a honeyed, slightly spicy edge makes for a lovely set of aromatics and flavors. It's sweet but not cloying, rich but not heavy. There is no apparent alcohol, so it's much too easy to drink. Yum.

Sounds very nice. I do not see this label in Ohio but will be on the look-out for it.

I like the volcano-sandstone terroir of Kitterlé; it is very poor and thus the yields are always kept low. I mainly drink the wines from Schlumberger, they own 20 out of 26 ha, or something like that.

On the subject of Dirler, this afternoon I sampled the 2007 Dirler Gewurz Grand Cru Spiegel SGN. Without a doubt a superb wine..reduced to $57 Cdn!!
A Pinot Gris Bux was pretty tasty too..might go back for a few bottles. David seems quite keen on this domaine :D .
