Jaffurs Roussanne StolpmanVnyd/SBC (12.6%) SantaBarbara 2014: Med.light gold color; strong floral/appley/apple blossom/melony/ripe light nutmeg/spicy slight chalky lovely nose; fairly tart bit chalky/mineral strong appley/melony/apple blossom bit tight/nervy/wiry flavor; very long fairly tart/chalky/mineral strong apple/apple blossom/floral/melony bit spicy/nutmeg finish; an evolution in style away from the rich/opulent/honeyed/honeysuckle Roussannes of previous yrs; a taut/nervy kind of Roussanne but not at all lean & eviscerated; quite an attractive Roussanne that needs some age. $27.00

Jaffurs Syrah SantaBarbaraCnty (14.8%) 2013: Very dark color; very intense blackberry/boysenberry/plummy/Syrah ripe/almost Paso-like some toasty/oak bit earthy beautiful SBC Syrah nose; soft rich/lush/mouthfilling intense blackberry/Syrah/spicy/boysenberry huge fruit bit licorice/pungent/toasty/oak rather structured flavor w/ modest smooth/ripe tannins; very long intense spicy/blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry/licorice some toasty/oak finish w/ some ripe/lush tannins; huge blackberry/Syrah fruit but not at all a flabby fruit bomb; has the structure to go out 10 yrs or so; another terrific Jaffurs SBC Syrah and a real steal at $26.20

The Syrah is another in a great line of the basic SBC Syrahs from Jaffurs. I told my people to back-up-the-truck and they did. This is a no-brainer purchase.
