Monday was no wine, Tuesday was linguine with mussels and zucchini and a peashoot salad. I went downstairs thinking Italian white, something like a Fiano, but came up with the 2013 Pacherhof Kerner, Somewhat steely, lemon, peach, herbs, nice long finish. Nice wine, though something a tad rounder profile might have been a better match with dinner, but I enjoyed wine. B+
Wednesday was chicken sausage, quinoa, and slaw, wine was the 2012 Meulenhof Erdener Treppchen Riesling Kabinett. Screwcapped, just a hint of pop when opening, a tiny bit of spritz in first pour. Lime-aid, chalk, moderate finish. Not profound but a fine value at $15. B/B+
Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
