2013 Tiefenbrunner Pinot Gris, what a nice wine to go with the chicken pasta casserole tonight. Medium straw color with a muted nose (maybe because I'm getting over a cold) the flavors were spicey pear but the acidity is what defines this wine. It is short of bracing and not spritzy but oh so pleasant and gives a nice cut to the medium-bodied fruit. I believe this wine comes from Alto Adige in northern Italy but label does not state that. abv of %13 and closed in screw cap.

Tiefenbrunner has been a very reliable producer of tasty whites from Alto Adige for a long time..have not tasted any reds from them..

Channeling DavidBuecker again are we, Jim???

Tiefenbrunner http://www.tiefenbrunner.com/en is one of my favorite AA producers. They make an astonishing
range of wines...all very good. The GWT is better than most GWT you'll find from Alsace. Of the reds, I particularly like the Schiava
and the Lagrein, but mostly you just see the whites.
