WTN: Hermannshohle Story

2013 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Nahe (12/5/2015)
Opened to pair with Thai drunken noodles, and it was a perfect match. The aromatics were beguiling, with floral, perfume, peach, pineapple and wet stones all in play. Sweet and rich yet also elegant on the palate, it stood up to and complimented the lightly spicy noodles. What a delicious wine!

So does Donnhoff now make a Hermannshohle GG, Spatlese, and Auslese every year, or does it depend on conditions?

The GG and Spätlese are annual affairs. The Auslese generally happens every year, but there have been times when weather conditions do not allow for it. 2008 was such a year.

Never one to recommend a Dönnhoff, but the 2014 Hermannshöhle GG is rather nice! The vintage as a whole does not look too shabby, either.
