Samsara Syrah AmpelosVnyd/StaRitaHills (15.6%; U/U; 70 cs; www.SamsaraWine.com) 2004: Very dark color w/ no bricking; very strong peppery/cold-climate intense blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah/spicy some toasty/charred/oak bit complex nose; rather tart/lean structured intense peppery/cold-climate/blackberry/spicy/Syrah some toasty/oak slight tangy/metallic flavor w/ some drying tannins; long tart/lean/tangy/metallic quite peppery/cold-climate/Syrah/blackberry/very spicy slight Rhonish/smokey some toasty/oak finish w/ some dried-out/tangy/rough tannins; loads of cold-climate/peppery Syrah character but starting to dry out a bit; lovely classic SBC Syrah. $30.00

1. Samsara is the label of ChadMelville. I used to follow their wines very closely, but have sorta lost track of them. I should revisit them.
