With lamb Thursday-2005 Laurel Glen Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma Mountain AVA). Definitely a wow wine....piercing beautiful cassis fruit with some silky tannins and balanced acidity. Not old or tired at all. Lovely!

Livermore Wine Tasting Friday-Highlight for me was (again) the lovely Murietta's Well Touriga. Earthy black fruit with a touch of herbaciousness that is not like cabernet or cab franc but more...tomato leaf????

With surf and turf (lobster and red meat Saturday night). Ampelos 2013 Viognier: Lovely white wine. Crisp on the palate but still plenty of lovely rich viognier fruit! Also enjoyed the Two Shepherds Pastorale White Rhone Blend, which had some lively acidity and lovely, lithe fruit. From Randy-2004 Eversham Wood Pinot Noir. Still plenty of lovely pinot fruit, nut lovely mushrooms and earth. Delicious older pinot! With turf: 2009 Corison "Kronos Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon. My second wow wine of the week. Amazing savory, minerally elements-but the fruit is still there! Not as evident in fruit forwardness as the also lovely Laurel Glen, this was more about the delicious acid core and earthy savory notes! Delicious!
