I looked at the wines by the glass list online before arriving in Tampa. I talked Connie into letting me order three different reds and an extra wine glass for each of us so we could try all three reds and then re-order our favorite. We started with a 2013 LOUIS JADOT MOULIN-A-VENT CHATEAU DE JACQUES BEAUJOLAIS CRU which initially we found rather unfriendly on the palate (too young?) However, I noticed that later in the evening Connie finished off the glass which she had said she didn't like. Second, we tried the 2008 CASTELLO BANFI BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO which had some nice spice notes on the finish (along with cherry notes) and was an okay pairing with our steaks. Both of us declared our favorite to be the 2006 LONG MEADOW CABERNET SAUVIGNON, NAPA VALLEY which really complemented the steaks. We each ordered another glass of the Cabernet. We went to the Harry Waugh Dessert Room after dinner but I didn't order a dessert wine this time as I still had to drive back to my hotel in north Tampa and it was a rainy night. I had thought beforehand that the Brunello might be my favorite but the Cab really hit the spot.
